Unravel

Unravel is a provocation to the user. A chair that invites you to commit a vandalistic act.  Made up of a fine metal frame, the chair seat is a combination of polypropylene, nylon, cotton and wool ropes, stitched together using crochet. Crochet allows the seat to be robust, through its intricated structure of interlocked loops, and fragile at the same time: the particularity of this textile is that it can be completely unraveled by a single pull of its loose end.

 

In the event of vandalism, hours of work can be undone in a matter of seconds.
